The SUV is available in two different configurations. These configurations include the Sport and the Limited. This four door SUV is produced by the Jeep division of Chrysler and was in production from 2005 to 2010. The Commander comes in various trims and has off road capabilities offered through three different 4WD (four wheel drive) systems. The Commander first debuted at the New York Auto Show in 2005 as a five- or seven-passenger counterpart of the Jeep Liberty. It was designed to specifically target consumers who desired a three-row SUV, but designed to be only two inches longer than the Jeep Grand Cherokee with its two-rows of seats as well as to be assembled on the same production line. The Jeep Commander was succeeded by the Dodge Durango.
