The performance vehicle has been in production for over 60 years and first made its debut in 1954. The designation SL derives from the German Sport Leicht (English for "Super Light", or Sport Lightweight and was first applied to the 300SL. The original idea was suggested by American importer Max Hoffman, who perceived a market for a toned-down Gran Prix car tailored to affluent performance enthusiasts in the booming post-war American market, which remains the primary market for the vehicles. If you are in search of sophistication and luxury, the SL-Class is the way to go. It not only looks great on the outside and inside as well, it also has outstanding performance. The grand tourer sports car is perfect for those who like to ride in style and hit a fast speed as well.
